Caribou across Canada belong to one species despite their different physical characteristics, behaviours and habitat. Southern Mountain Caribou are well adapted to life in the snowy mountains as they migrate from low to high elevations to access food and separate themselves from predators and disturbances.

Great Spangled Fritillary
What a name right? I saw one of these last summer and couldn’t believe the name when I looked it up to paint it! Definite fairy vibes in comparison to ‘monarch’ or ‘swallowtail’ 🦋

I started this Lilac Mourning Cloak in May and began to avoid painting all together since I was so frustrated with it. It’s safe to say Lilacs are the most difficult flower to paint, for me at least 😅
